How We Got Started

It all started when…

Our lives changed on June 26th 2013. A silly training accident with the Springfield Police Department ended Thor's career as a Police Officer and left him wondering what's next.

Catherine was a successful Program Director and Physical Therapist Assistant, managing rehab services at eight senior care faculties in the area. She served as Missouri's caucus rep for the APTA and helped craft key therapy legislation.

Doctors told Thor his injury was career ending, and he may never work again. This was not accepted by Thor, and in a pharmaceutically induced moment of insanity, Thor ordered 768 lavender plants. Although everyone failed to understand Thor's foolish idea, family and friends rallied and planted the lavender.

By October 2015, the plants had matured and been harvested. Catherine joined Thor at the Greater Springfield Farmers Market and soon realized that this crazy idea had legs. Catherine had to join Thor full time in Lavender propagation, planting and product production. By May of 2016, the company was being invited to exclusive festivals all over the Midwest and south.

Together, they evolved the company into retail, wholesale, and a staple festival brand. That wasn't enough, and in June 2017 the duo opened the doors to their farm and a renovated barn turned cafe, store, and bar. Lavender Falls began hosting weddings and special gatherings later last year, and we are looking forward to sharing more special moments with others in the future.

The spring in the valley runs year round at a constant 59 degrees. Utilizing the natural beauty and relaxing charm it offers, we wanted to share these pristine waters and natural 300' waterfall.

We invite you to visit our farm during our short season, asking only that you remember the farm is our kids home first and foremost.
